All full time staff are legally entitled to 28 days paid holiday. This is pro rata for part-time staff.
Leave and pay for parental leave i.e. maternity, paternity, adoption and surrogacy can be a complex issue particularly when considering the statutory entitlements plus any contractual obligations which may be included in your terms and conditions. It is imperative that you adhere to the legal requirements.
The current maximum working week for all employees aged 18 and over is 48 hours, averaged over a 17 week period. Unless the employee has ‘opted out’ in writing, they may not work any longer than this. There are different rules for employees aged under 18.
